3. How consent works, depending on where you're visiting from
We apply different consent mechanisms depending on your location, since cookie law differs by region:
- Visitors in the EU/EEA and UK: Non-essential cookies (functional, analytics) are off by default. You'll see a consent banner on your first visit and must actively opt in before any non-essential cookie is set. You can withdraw consent at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the site footer.
- Visitors elsewhere (including the US, outside California-specific rules below): Non-essential cookies may be set by default, with a clear option to opt out via the same "Cookie Preferences" link.

Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless of location, since the site cannot function without them, and they don't require consent under any major cookie law.

5. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by services we use, not by us directly:
